iFetch |
In the Wall Street Journal I read
about unique gifts for dog lovers. They would have helped Tim and me tremendously
when we had a dog. Check this out:
An app on your phone to automatically dispense a biscuit to
your pooch while you are away.
- You can watch your dog on a live video feed and tell him to stop eating your shoes. We really needed this for our dog, Duke. Once, when we left him alone, he closed himself in the bathroom and turned on the hot water faucet in the tub. We figured he may have been trying to take a sauna! On other occasions, he would scratch the rug until his paws were raw. Curious why he did this, we set up a video camera to see what happened when we left. Talk about a boring video, however it resulted in him having to take separation anxiety drugs, which helped save our rugs.
- There is a device that measures how much time your dog plays and sleeps—think pedometer for your dog. Although, some of us may be a little jealous at our puppies daily routine of eat, sleep, play and repeat.
- Attach a GPS collar to your dog and you will always know where he is. This would have helped us with Duke too. We nicknamed him Houdini. He would find an escape route out of the back yard and when we arrived home, there he would be waiting on our front porch smirking.
- Now there is an iFetch machine that launches tennis balls up to 30 feet away. With the included video, you can teach your dog to reload it with balls so he doesn’t need you to do it for him—self-help for dogs.
Today’s gift was to send this
article and link
to friends who are
looking for a unique gift in the “what will they think of next” category.
In Giving,
Robin
