I am scheduled to speak at a state leadership
conference for a nonprofit organization later this year. The conference
organizer told me that they had not received the corporate sponsorship dollars
that they had anticipated. They asked the other two keynote speakers if they
would do it for free.
Today’s gift was to tell them that I would
present for no fee. The meeting planner was ecstatic that I agreed to help them
out. When I speak for them, I’ll be sure to pronounce all my vowels . . . and
consonants, too.
