Good Stuff for Free

Available free stuff:
  • Advice
  • Virus software
  • Shareware computer software programs
  • Giveaways at a conference or trade show
  • Information on the internet—some true and some not
  • Select music on ITunes
  • Television infomercials—buy one item and get 16 for “free”
  • Coupons
  • Food samples in the grocery store, Costco or Sam’s Club
  • Buy one get one free in the grocery store
  • YouTube videos
  • Buy one get one free at a fast food restaurant
  • Anything you get from me during my Giving Challenge

But one thing I typically wouldn’t see on my “free” list is rice. Yes, the white rice that is a good complement to Chinese food. Today’s gift was to play a word game on www.freerice.com for fifteen minutes. I gave 500 grains of rice—10 grains per correct answer—to the United Nations World Food Program. Certain free stuff is worth exactly what I pay for it, but this one is good stuff for free. I sharpen my vocabulary skills and someone gets free food that they most likely need very much.
In Giving for Free,

Robin
