Think about being in a picturesque location and
wanting a photo of you and your spouse or friend together. When that happens to
me, I get frustrated scrolling through all the menus on my camera to find the setting
for the self-timer. My friend has usually gotten tired of waiting and moved on
to the next attraction. I say let’s take a picture of us and then realize that
there is nowhere to set the camera. I hold it at arms length, snap and get a lousy
photo of my nostril and my friend’s head cut in half. You may be laughing, but I
bet it has happened to you.
Here’s a fun way to make good use of those photos.
Send it to someone who you want to respond to you with or without a note. The
person will most likely call and ask, “What’s up with the photo?” You both can
have a good laugh about it, and then proceed with why you wanted to talk to
them in the first place.
But seriously, you really wanted a good picture
of the two of you. You could ask someone walking past on the Las Vegas Strip to
take it for you. Hmmm . . . why wouldn’t you give your cell phone or expensive
camera to a stranger? Looking around, I noticed a young couple struggling to
get a photo of them with the “Eiffel Tower” which is part of the Paris casino.
For today’s gift, I offered to take their photo.
They readily handed over their camera without any hesitation. After I took
their picture, they walked away with the biggest smile on their faces. They
will have a good picture of themselves “cheesing” to commemorate their fun trip
in the one and only Las Vegas, Nevada!
In Giving,
Robin
